ABOUT
Jade is an experienced Somatic Therapist with a diverse background spanning martial arts, music, and hospitality.
His therapeutic approach integrates formal studies in mainstream Counselling and Compassionate Inquiry, having trained under Dr Gabor Maté and Dr Luke Sniewski. Jade’s practice is also deeply informed by his lived experience — including previous careers in music and hospitality, and a challenging early life that saw him leave home at thirteen. These experiences bring depth, empathy, and authenticity to his work with clients.
Over the past seven years, Jade has trained under Master Peter Kelly in Mujushin-Kyu, cultivating a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of body, mind, ki, and breath. Elements of these teachings are thoughtfully woven into his Somatic Therapy and Soma Breath Being™ practices, creating an integrated and embodied approach to healing.
With professional experience as a Youth and Support Worker at TassieCare, Back On Track, Ashley Youth Detention Centre, Hakea Prison and Essence of Bodymind, Jade holds a strong commitment to supporting men and young people on their healing journeys.
SOMATIC THERAPY
Somatic therapy is a gentle, body-centred approach to healing grounded in a simple but profound understanding: the mind tells the stories, but the body tells the truth. As our body and mind are deeply interconnected, our experiences don’t just live in our thoughts or memories — they are stored and woven into our nervous system, our posture, the way we breathe, and the subtle patterns of tension or ease we carry each day that reside in our fascia.
While traditional talk therapy focuses on exploring thoughts and stories, somatic therapy invites us to slow down and listen to the quiet wisdom of the body. With compassionate guidance and inquiry, clients begin to notice sensations — a tightening in the chest, warmth in the hands, a shift in breath or a subtle impulse to move. These signals are not random; they are the body’s language speaking its truth.
By gently turning toward one’s thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions in a safe and supported way, the nervous system and fascia are given space to unwind and release stored stress or trauma. Over time, this process helps restore a sense of safety, balance, and inner connection — allowing healing to happen within the bodymind, cultivating oneness.
SOMA BREATH BEING
Soma Breath Being™ is a healing and self-embodiment practice that weaves together body, breath, ki, mind, and the innate wisdom of the human vessel. It supports individuals in reconnecting with their authentic inner healer — guiding them toward greater happiness, health, and vitality.
This interactive and experiential practice invites active participation. Through compassionate, open inquiry and embodied awareness, clients cultivate harmony between body, breath, and being. In doing so, they restore a natural connection to their centre — and to the greater field of life around them.
The benefits of Soma Breath Being™ extend beyond improved resilience and inner stability. While it strengthens one’s ability to navigate the demands and chaos of daily life, it also works at a deeper level — supporting the release and integration of trauma. By engaging the nervous system and fascia, the practice helps free stored emotional patterns and implicit memories held within the body.
Rooted in the Japanese tradition of Ki-no-kenkyukai, founded by Master Koichi Tohei, Soma Breath Being™ carries forward principles of mind–body unification. It fosters a balanced physical and energetic state from which one may begin to experience what Maruyama sensei described as “here and now is nowhere” — a state beyond tension and opposition, where body, mind, and self dissolve into seamless unity with the whole.
